Grandparents First Christmas

Hello Again,

I must say that Mike and I had a wonderful Christmas. It was so much fun watching our grandchildren on their first Christmas with them.
Of course Allie, only being 7 months old, is just a bit young to realize just what was going on. But she was sure glad to see everyone and to be getting all of the attention. She is always happy to see her Auntie Tiff.
As for Petros, well he was just amazed with all of the presents and maybe a bit on overload, but having so much fun all of the same. Always a smile on that little boys face.

What a joy both of these children are.

Enjoy the pictures.

Until next time....

A Fun Weekend

Hello again,

We have had another lovely weekend here at the LeVasseur home.

Allie came to visit for the weekend and of course we had a fun filled couple of days with her.

Saturday she got to go and have a photo with Santa and she did a very good job. Her mother - AKA - My daughter conned me into taking her to get her ears pierced because she was too chicken to do it. I must admit, I almost chickened out as well. But we got through it with help from my good friend Kate. She held Allie while the deed was done. She seems to have forgotten all about it now - Just as smiley as ever.
We all went to a Christmas party at Danny & Cheryl's house Saturday evening which was a very good time. Petros was so very entertaining and showed us quite a nice dance. He is a very good little dancer. I know that I say it at every post, but this kid amazes me. We did a Yankee Swap and Tiff and Dan had explained that to Petros prior to the party and he wanted to participate. He chose a gift to buy which was a toy and it got opened by someone, then it was his turn and he chose to take the toy and have that person open another gift. All good right? Well his Nana got #1 so she got to pick last so she went up to him and pretended that she might like to take the toy and give him her candle, this child just looked at the toy that he so wanted and said, "okay" with a smile. Then of course Nana told him that she had changed her mind and his eyes lit up because he knew he got to keep his toy. He is just the best little boy. He keeps telling his parents that he wants a baby in the house. Well, Tiff is a natural she kept little Miss Allie quite happy all evening. Allie was tired and would get a bit fussy and along came Auntie Tiff to the rescue and guess who would get a smile on her face. Well both Auntie Tiff and Allie, but Allie sure wanted to be with her Auntie all evening that's for sure. :)
Enjoy the pictures.

Until next time....

Still Here in LA

Hello Again,

Yes, I know it has been quite a while since I have posted a blog. I wish that I could say that I have been busy but that is not the case. I have been lazy.

Our grandchildren are healthy, happy and growing like weeds. Would we have it any other way? No. They are absolute dreams to be around and we treasure every moment that we are around them.

Petros' adoption is final and he had his day in court (at the children's museum) to prove it. With a judge and the whole bit. He had a great time playing at the museum after the ceremony. He was all dressed up so handsome and quite the little star of the day.

He is quite the intelligent young man and amazes everyone everyday. Please check out Tiff & Dan's blog and view their well done montage in celebration of it being 6 months since the referral date.

Allie is now 6 months old more and more animated. She made a funny face when I was feeding her some fruit the other day and I laughed out loud at her and she looked at me and laughed right back at me. What a riot she has become. She is a very happy baby with a smile on her face a good part of the time. She absolutely loves to jump in her jump - n - go. She will jump in that thing for an hour or so at a time. I have to wonder if she gets leg aches?!
I can hardly wait to see both of these little ones together at Christmas. I know that Allie won't know what is going on but it will be our first Christmas with the both grandchildren and it's going to be a special one. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
PENNY
Mike's mother's birthday is tomorrow and I just know that she is going to be 39 years young. :) Have a wonderful day Penny.

Until next time....

Happy Times

Hello Again,

Happy times have been many for me lately. I have been enjoying these two wonderful grandchildren immensely. They have brought such joy to our lives that words cannot even describe.

Petros is learning more and more English every second of every day that it amazes all of us. He is always coming up with some phrase that his parents do not expect him to say. He is such a handsome and loving little boy. He loves putting puzzles together and playing games and I just can't wait to see what he thinks of the snow. Just wait until he walks on it and he finds that it is slippery! Oh, he is going to have fun this winter, I just know it. :) I actually am looking forward to going sliding with him and hearing him squeal as we go down the hill. It just gives me the chance to be a great big kid again or let the kid in be loose. How fun will that be?!
Allie will be 5 months old tomorrow. Can you believe it?! She does not use the pacifier anymore - Oh no - She uses her thumb! Much better, you can't loose that. She is just such a happy little baby with a great disposition and learning more and more all of the time. She is growing like a weed and still no hair, but as beautiful as they come. :)
I have to say that we are blessed with two wonderful grandchildren and we are thrilled that they are both in our lives. They have both, already, brought so much joy, love and meaning to our lives that I cannot even begin to explain.

We love you Petros and Allie. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Until next time....

The Joy Of My Grandchildren

Hello Again,

Yes, I know that it has been awhile since I have posted a blog - I have been lazy.

We have been enjoying the grandchildren this weekend. We had Allie overnight on Friday and she was a good girl as usual and slept through the night. She likes to scream now just to hear herself scream - What a riot! She can roll from her belly to her back and she will plant her little feet down and arch her back. Needless to say you cannot leave her alone for a second now or she will roll off the bed or something else that you may not expect her to do.

In the picture below Allie was playing under her little jungle gym and very much enjoying it as you can see by the big grin.
We went down to visit Dan, Tiff and Petros today and may I say that Petros just amazes us more and more every time that we see him. We bought him a bicycle a few weeks ago with training wheels at a garage sale that was in GREAT condition. Well you would have thought that we gave that child a million dollars. Tiff tells us that that bicycle is the first thing that he asks for when he wakes up in the morning. One day they took him for 3 rides down the road on it and he would still tell them, "want more." I played "The Memory Game" with him today and he won!!! I did not go easy on him either. He is one smart and may I say handsome little boy. He has sure captured our hearts.

In this picture he is showing us that he has learned to wink. His Great Grammy LeVasseur taught him that.
In this picture he is showing us that he can give his baby cousin a bottle and she did fall fast asleep. He then politely asked me to take her. :)

Enjoy the pictures.

Until Next Time....

Weekend With Allie

Hello Again -

Well we had a weekend visitor - Allie. She spent the weekend with Grammy and Grampy. She was a very good girl as usual. She got to spend Saturday with Auntie Tiff, Uncle Dan and Cousin Petros and go to a barbeque and I picked her up after I finished work. She slept through the night on both nights. Let me tell you, she is a much better sleeper than her mother ever was. Ha! Ha! We enjoyed having her here very much and now it is very quiet here and we both miss her and are not liking the quiet. :(

Here are a few of the MANY pictures that I took of her.

Now we are just waiting for the time that we can keep Petros for a weekend (Yea Right!) How about just a few hours Mommy and Daddy? He just amazes me all of the time. Tiff told me that she carried Allie up the stairs on Saturday morning just as Petros was waking up and he looked up and said, "Hello Allie." He is such a smart little boy and just so full of energy. We just love him so much and I love to hear him tell me that he loves me. It just melts my heart.

Okay, time to fold laundry that I have been putting off all afternoon.

Until next time....

A Sleep Over With Allie & A Party For Petros

Hello Everyone,

It has already been a busy weekend. Last night Allie had her first sleep over at Grammy and Grampy's house. She did very well - She slept through the night and that made Grammy and Grampy very happy. It is hard to believe that she is already 3 months old. Wow, how time flies! She just smiles all of the time and wakes up so happy, but when she decides that she is hungry that bottle had better be ready or she lets you know that she is not happy. She is such a very sweet little baby and she has her Grammy and her Grampy wrapped right around her little finger, that is for sure.

Today we had a shower for Dan, Tiff, and Petros and Cheryl's house. It was a perfect day for it and we all enjoyed the pool afterward. Petros enjoyed opening his gifts and sat on Daddy's lap and watched Mommy open the gift cards. What a good boy. That is truly amazing for a tired 3 y/o to do that without fidgeting. He is such a wonderful little boy and so full of love. When he looks at you with those big brown eyes and smiles you just can't help it, you instantly fall in love.

I've always known that I was truly blessed with two wonderful children entrusted to me to love, care for, and raise. Now, I am blessed with the opportunity to watch them, along with their partners, love, care for and raise these wonderful grandchildren. I am so thankful. I have never wanted wanted for more.

Until next time....

Visiting the Grandchildren

Hello There,

HAPPY 50 th BIRTHDAY TO MY HUSBAND, MIKE

Today started my first week watching Allie on Wednesdays. We went to Steep Falls and visited with Tiff, Dan and Petros for the day. We all had a good time despite the rain. Petros is learning more and more English and continues to mimic everything that we all do and that continues to just crack me up. :) He put his hat on me and I said, "thank you" and he (without missing a beat) said, " you're welcome." What a smart little boy he is! He just amazes me how fast he is learning. He just loves to throw the ball to Maggie too. Yea, speaking of balls and Maggie - Tiff brought in a ball that she bought at Target for Petros and Maggie promptly pierced it with her teeth within 30 seconds of it being in the house. Well, that took care of that ball. Petros thought that that was a big joke - He just laughed and laughed.

Allie had a good day with Grammy. After I gave her a nice bath she promptly spit up all over the front of my shirt. Did I bring another shirt? Of course not!! Thank goodness that Sara had a T-Shirt big enough to fit me! Mental note to self - Bring a change of clothes. :)

Enjoy the pictures.

Until next time....

Another Journey Begins

Hello Again Today,

Well we went for lunch today at Tiff, Dan and Petros' house. Well, Petros was right full of energy today and not shy to show us. He is running around the house like he has been there forever. He absolutely adores Maggie and Maggie adores him right back. He is a little mimic, repeating everything that you say and do. (I gotta be caaaaaareful!) He was giggling the whole time that we were all there today. He is just such a joy to be around and we all feel so blessed to have him in our lives now.

Dan and Tiff are already amazing parents and Mike and I are truly impressed with them. You guys are AWESOME!!

It would be an under statement to say that I absolutely LOVE being a grandmother to both of my beautiful grand-babies. It's GREAT!

Enjoy the pictures.

Until next time....

Hello,

Although it is a blessing, it is with deep sadness that I say that my stepfather, Gary Chandler, passed away this morning. I know that he is in a better place now and is not suffering any more and for that I am grateful. I am glad that I got to spend a few days with him last week and that he was awake and coherent and was able to hold conversations with us. He even cracked a few jokes and a few smiles.

To Gary:

Until we meet again may you Rest in Peace and have fun riding that motorcycle up there in Heaven.

My family and I would like to thank every one for all of your prayers.

Until next time....

Mary
